The association “Unirea-ODIP” dissociates itself from the messages disseminated last week by the counterdemonstrations who protested in front of the Constitutional Court. In a news conference hosted by IPN, the association’s leader Vlad Biletski said that members and sympathizers of the “Chance” Party from Gagauzia came before the Court to protest against particular provisions of the Tax Code. At the same time, a counterdemonstration was staged and this degenerated into the spread of hatred and xenophobia.
The “Unirea-ODIP” leader presented images of a number of activists who support the President and the Party of Action and Solidarity and who participated in the counterdemonstration in front of the Constitutional Court. “These people are known by the public for the fact that they openly and actively back Maia Sandu, being present at every protest that is organized by the Shor Party (which was declared unconstitutional, e.n.), the “Chance” Party or any other opposition party. We have nothing in common with them. We wouldn’t have paid attention to them if they hadn’t taken and used the unionist message,” said Vlad Biletski.
According to him, all the provocative messages and messages inciting interethnic hatred, which were disseminated by the so-called unionists, could represent a pretext for the Russian Federation to intervene in the Republic of Moldova. “We, those who over time have promoted the Romanian and unionist cause, fully dissociate ourselves from these types of events, from these scandals, provocations, destabilization, from this hybrid war waged against us. What really happened? The people of Gagauzia came to protest against PAS and left protesting against the unionists,” noted Vlad Biletski.
In his opinion, Gagauzia is a delicate space, especially for the Romanian national message and for those who aim to promote the cause of national reunification, reunion. And in all their actions over the years, they took this aspect into account when it came to other ethnic groups, namely not to provoke their representatives. Events like the one staged before the Constitutional Court are absolutely counterproductive to the cause of union.
“They applied the ”'best” tactic - divide and rule. They put us head to head, threw us into the fire so that we further clarified things ourselves. If the situation degenerates, the unionists are to blame – here’s what they do. The unionists are currently being manipulated by the PAS government and Maia Sandu, who don’t assume the union,” said the “Unirea-ODIP” leader.
According to him, the current government managed to discredit itself. “You sent your activists, supporters guided and organized by the party to assume the Romanian, unionist flag and discredit it,” noted Vlad Biletski.
