The leader of the "Unirea - ODIP" Association, Vlad Bilețchi, was elected as an independent councilor in the village of Aluatu, Taraclia district. The candidate has accumulated more votes than the PSRM, the ACUM Bloc, the PDM and the "Șor" Political Party. In an IPN press conference, Vlad Bilețchi said that he decided to run in order to "help people and to continue, by all means, including legal, to represent the people in several national and international institutions".

Vlad Bilețchi said that he decided to run after he managed, with help from people from abroad, to repair the only Romanian school. He didn’t announce his intention to run earlier in order not to stir up much stronger forces, which he could not cope with.

"The village has over 1500 inhabitants. There are 9 seats on the council and Vlad Bilețchi will hold one.The elected councilor said that he intends to stop the depopulation process of the settlement over the course of the next 4 years. He aims to establish a program to regain the Romanian citizenship, so that the Romanian state offers allowances to the people who give birth to children. Additionally, the councilor wants to repair the entire length of the village main road and to repair the two transport stations within a few months.

Vlad Bilețchi said that he intends to install an information panel at the village entrance, which would represent the settlement's "business card". He will plead for the construction of the Romanian church, which was demolished in 1978, for the creation of green areas, a sports ground, sidewalks, a park, the installation of street name signs and the clear delimitation of land and properties. He also intends to popularize, by all possible means, the settlement in order to attract the necessary assistance for the village to become a model village, where festivals and concerts would be organized and where folk craft and folkwear would be promoted.

Additionally, Vlad Bilețchi said that he intends to make it possible to provide social assistance for the elderly and to equip the medical center as soon as possible. “Due to becoming twin settlements with Săpoca commune in Buzău, village children can go free of charge every year to the Romanian mountain range and the sea. Getting Romanians to visit Moldova is also an objective", said Vlad Bilețchi.

Asked about party affiliation, Vlad Bilețchi said that he will not associate himself with any party in the coming years. Instead, he aims to identify other young independent councilors and mayors with whom he wants to make a broad alliance of independents. Considering that he lives in Chișinău, Vlad Bilețchi said that he will travel to Aluatu every three months in order to attend ordinary meetings and extraordinary council meetings.

The councilor sent the following message to the political class: "Leave your soft armchairs and return to the people and to the villages. Return to the grassroots. This is the only way we can win the battle for Moldova, by winning the hearts of the people in all 898 settlements. The dirges, the poetry recitals and the flag waving are insufficient in order to succeed. Become better managers and show that you are capable of improving people's lives", Vlad Bilețchi said.
