The unionists will mount a car march through Chisinau on October 21. They will set off from the National Opera House “Maria Bieșu”, not from the central square of Chisinau, as earlier. The decision to change the place was taken so as not to intersect with the demonstration announced by the Democratic Party.

“We had to change the place so as not to create confusion between the unionist event and the political event of the Democratic Party”, Vlad Biletski, chairman of “Unirea” ODIP, stated in a news conference at IPN. According to Vlad Biletski, each driver will be offered by two tricolors that will be put on the lateral windows of the cars. The first drivers who will come to the march will receive decals for the license plate with the tricolor.

Ion Leashchenko, president of the National Unity Bloc, said the unionist car march will start from the square of the National Opera House at 12 noon. The column will head for Buiucani district and will move on the streets Ion Creangă, Piața Unirii Principatelor, Alba Iulia, Liviu Deleanu, Șoseaua Balcani, Henri Coanda, and Mihai Viteazu. Later, the participates will go towards Râșcani district on the streets Alecu Russo, Bulevardul Moscova, and Bogdan Voievod. In Ciocana district, the convoy will cross the streets Mircea cel Bătrân and Vadul lui Vodă. In Botanica, unionists ‘cars will go on the streets Decebal, Dacia, Cuza-Vodă and Grenoble. Afterward, the cars will return to the center of Chisinau along the streets Gheorghe Asachi, Pan Halippa, Ismail and Ștefan cel Mare.

Otilia Dascăl, of the Civic Movement “Moldova’s Youth”, called on all the unionists to take part in the car march. “It is an event by which we aim to maintain the unionist message in the centenary year so as to realize the union as soon as possible. Each unionist activity, no matter what unionist organization stages it, should be supported,” stated the young woman.

All those who share the unionist idea are expected to take part in the march, both those who have a car and those who do not drive. The organizers assure all those who will come will have places in the cars.

The car march will end with the donation of a replica of the Union Flame to the Museum of History of Moldova.
