The Union of Volunteers of Moldova expressed its concern about the social, economic and political situation in the country, describing it as very tense. The organization says that the government does not take definite steps to overcome the crisis, making only promises.
“We know nothing about an anti-crisis plan. The effects of the world crisis are already felt by every citizen. The unemployment rate is on the rise. The economy is in decline. We lose the traditional markets and enter no new markets. The salary arrears have increased,” the Union says in a statement quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
The Union calls on the authorities to set up a parliamentary commission involving foreign experts that would initiate a political dialogue. It also suggests setting free the political detainees Gabriel Stati and Anatol Matasaru, investigating all the atrocities committed at police commissariats after the April 7 protests and holding accountable all those that ordered the mistreatment of the detainees and those that fulfilled the orders.
