Union Fenosa will reduce the power distribution tariff by 0.5% under a decision taken by the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE), which punished the company for not observing the quality indicators set for the power distribution and supply services, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the Agency. The reduction will be calculated for the entire volume of power supplied by Union Fenosa to end-users in 2009 and will be taken into account when the electricity charges for consumers will be adjusted. The penalty was imposed because Union Fenosa did not duly deal with consumers' complaints concerning deviations from the admissible voltage level. The power supplier was obliged to solve the related problems within five days. In 2009, RED Union Fenosa exceeded this term in 45 cases. The regulations concerning the quality of the power distribution and supply services provides for the reduction of the power distribution tariff by 0.5% for not respecting the five-day term in 10% or more of the cases. Currently, the ANRE is holding consultations on the updated regulations concerning the quality of the power distribution and supply services. The Agency suggests obliging the suppliers to pay compensations of 25% of the bill to consumers if they do not observe the quality parameters.
