The Central Election Commission on January 20 registered the Union Electoral Bloc as a competitor in the new parliamentary elections that will take place in single-member constituency No. 38 Hâncești on March 15 this year, IPN report.

The Commission also registered the Bloc’s electoral symbol that will be imprinted on ballots. This represents the schematic image of the Great Romania that incorporates the word UNION.

The Union Political Bloc consists of the five parties that founded the Union Political Movement. These are the Liberal Party, the Romanian People’s Party, the Save Bessarabia Union, the Democracy at Home Party and the National Liberal Party.

After the registration decision was made public, Save Bessarabia Union leader Valeriu Munteanu wrote on Facebook that the Union Electoral Bloc is to now field a candidate for the March 15 new parliamentary elections of Hâncești.
