The Union Council condemns the deeds of the persons who protested against the Union March on March 25. “We request the law enforcement bodies to hold accountable the organizers of this diversion who, besides violating public order, chanted racist and xenophobe slogans and insults,” the Council’s co-chairman Valeriu Ciubotaru said in a news conference, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
The Council also condemns the legislative initiatives of the leader of the Party of Socialists, MP Igor Dodon, who, according to it, aims to ban unionism, change the tricolor and prohibit the studying of the History of Romanians by law. “We consider that the Alliance for European Integration will make everything possible to condemn the crimes of the Communist regimes that led to the extermination of millions of people,” stated Valeriu Ciubotaru.
The Council’s representatives said they will call on the Romanian authorities to deprive the members of the societies and parties that plead against the Romanians and the union of Romanian nationality.
The Union Council also calls upon the Moldovan people not to respond to the provocations of the pro-Russian imperial forces that, according to it, aim to involve them into an interethnic conflict.
During the Union March on March 25, a group of people tried to hinder the unionists’ event, shouting insults at them. After the incident, Igor Dodon put forward a bill, suggesting banning all the public associations and parties that plead against the statehood and independence of Moldova, referring especially to those who are in favor of Moldova’s union with Romania.
