Uniform tax on oversized vehicles

The tax on oversized vehicles, that is, which weigh more than 40 tonnes, will range from 100 to 200 lei for all the owners, regardless of whether national or foreign. A decision to this effect was adopted on Tuesday by the Government, Info-Prim Neo reports. Prior to this decision, the Moldovan carriers paid 100 lei for each oversized vehicle, while the tax for Ukrainian carriers, for example, was $150. The Government decision makes the tax uniform for all carriers. Moldova is transited by oversized vehicles chiefly from Romania and Ukraine.
