Unemployment and corruption are the biggest problems faced by Moldova, shows an IMAS poll commissioned by IPN News Agency. Thus, 20.9% of the respondents said unemployment is the biggest problem, while 20.1% named corruption. 15.4% of those polled consider poverty and the low living standards are the most serious problem.
Some 7.8% of those surveyed indicated the economic crisis, 7.5% - the low salaries and pensions, 3.8% the political situation or instability, 3.4% - the political class or the government, 2.4% - migration, 1.4% - the European integration, 0.4% - the export markets or bans, 0.5% - the country’s reunification or the Transnistrian conflict, while 0.2% - the worsening of the relations with Russia.
As to unemployment, the respondents consider that the following parties are able to create new workplaces the best: the PLDM (16.9%), the PCRM (16%), and the PDM (13.6%). However, 23.5% think that no party can cope with such a task. 21.8% of those polled consider the PDM is the party that provides the best solutions to the problems faced by women, while 21.6% said this party offers the best solutions to the problems of families. The PLDM is regarded as a party that can bring Moldova closer to the West and the EU by 33.8% of the respondents, while as a party that can improve the education system – by 23.9%.
17% of those surveyed consider that things in Moldova go right, 29% - believe the direction is good to a certain extent, 20% think the direction is wrong, while 22% that it is wrong to a certain extent.
The poll was carried out between November 8 and 19 and covered a sample of 1,128 people older than 18 from 81 settlements. The margin of sampling error is 3%.
