The war veterans who do not work will be medically insured by the state. A bill to this effect was given a final reading in the November 20 sitting of Parliament, IPN reports.

Under the bill, the monthly state allowance for the surviving husband/wife of the participants in World War II or in fighting during peacetime, who were killed in the line of duty, or in the Chernobyl Cleanup who died and of persons with disabilities acquired as a result of war who died will be raised from 250 to 500 lei.

The MPs of the Dignity and Truth Platform proposed an amendment by which the health insurance policy to be offered free to all the veterans, either they work or not. But the amendment was rejected.

A similar bill to provide the veterans with free health insurance policies was adopted in the middle of July, but the MPs annulled that vote in two months.
