About 300 students of Chisinau education institutions became awardees of the “From the National History” contest dedicated to late poet Grigore Vieru. The contest was organized by the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport and brought together hundreds of students of different ages. The Laureate Gala took place at the Center of Culture “Ginta Latina” on February 12. The Education Division’s deputy head Valentina Cujba has told Info-Prim Neo that the contest was first held at sector level. Afterward, the winners competed in the municipal contest. The students contended in the following sections: wallpaper, own creation, recital, essays, and performance. All the students received participation diplomas, while the best of them got money awards as well. One of the awardees Anastasia Jandyr, eleventh grader at “Stefan cel Mare” High School, recited a number of poems by Grigore Vieru. She said the poet is a symbol of the national values. Awardee Vlad Cebanu-Nituleac, a fourth grader at “Gheorghe Asachi” High School, performed a dance together with classmates under a poem by Grigore Vieru that was set to music. The jury was composed of singers, actors and Romanian literature teachers. Singer Dianna Rotaru said it was very hard to select the winners as the students prepared very well for the contest. She encouraged those who did not take winning places to fight further. On February 14, Grigore Vieru would have turned 76.
