The unaffiliated lawmakers will vote for Vlad Filat for the post of Prime Minister because, otherwise there will be held early elections and they will not enter Parliament, considers political analyst Anatol Taranu, who stated his opinion in the program “Moldova live” on the public TV channel Moldova 1, IPN reports.

“The unaffiliated MPs have no chance of entering the future Parliament. Maybe the Dodon group has a slim chance. For this reason, the independent lawmakers would want the early elections to be avoided. The political negotiations focus on posts of ministers too, but can be reduced to much simpler things,” said the analyst.

Anatol Taranu stated that the unaffiliated MP Igor Dodon will vote for Vlad Filat also because he wants to remove the Liberal leader Mihai Ghimpu from government.

According to the analyst, Sergiu Sirbu implied that he may vote for Vlad Filat, Vadim Misin is connected with Vlad Filat, while Mihai Godea does what ‘somebody else’ tells him to do.

Analyst Nicolae Negru said the unaffiliated lawmakers may vote, but the developments depend only on the Democratic Party.

Constitutional expert Vitali Catana said the Liberal Party can vote for Vlad Filat for fear of early elections. Mihai Ghimpu may find a pretext to convene again the party’s Council, which would decide that they would vote for Vlad Filat.

Vlad Filat is the candidate for premiership designated by President Nicolae Timofti.
