UN gives by 10 kg of corn seeds to Moldovan farmers

Over 80,000 Moldovan farmers will get corn seeds for spring sowing works. The assistance is consigned through the UN’s Development Plan, Info-Prim Neo quotes the Moldova Ministry for Agriculture and Food Industry. According to deputy minister Anatol Spivacenco, each household will get by 10 kg of corn seeds enough to sow half a hectare of land. The distribution started on April 8. The beneficiaries come from among poorest social categories. Anatol Spivacenco underlines the farmers this year will also benefit of diesel fuel. The authorities allocated 40 million lei to buy 3,700 tonnes of fuel, as 80% of it has already been shared. The State Fund on subsidizing the agricultural sector was set at 270 million lei this year.
