There is a real risk that, after the parliamentary elections, the situation in the Republic of Moldova will become similar to that in Georgia, PSDE deputy chairman Tudor Ulianovschi stated in the talk show "Resumé” on RliveTV channel. According to the politician, it is necessary for the pro-European forces to enter the future legislature and not to allow the creation of a left-wing parliamentary majority. Tudor Ulyanovski noted that the lack of a pro-European coalition in the future legislative body could put the European development course on hold, IPN reports.

The deputy chairman of the European Social Democratic Party (PSDE) considers the results of the presidential election and the referendum of October 20 point to the loss of confidence of the electorate in the ruling party. The Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) will no longer hold a majority in the future Parliament, and the risk of creating a left-wing coalition, hostile to the country's European path, is extremely high.

"It is clear that the PAS will not have a majority in the future Parliament. It is already a fait accompli. It is an axiom. There is an urgent need to create conditions for other pro-European parties, such as the PSDE, to reach people's ears, to communicate and not to create artificial obstacles for them, so that an alternative to the PAS, which pursues the achievement of European integration, but through a professional government, reaches Parliament. If elections were held tomorrow, there would be a real risk of a situation similar to the one in Georgia, where the president is declaratively pro-European, but anti-Europeans reached Parliament. As a strategy, this must be urgently avoided and I will communicate this risk to Bucharest, Brussels, Berlin and Washington. This risk has already been seen there. In a parliamentary republic such as the Republic of Moldova, the pro-European course is really confirmed in the parliamentary elections," said Tudor Ulyanovski.

The politician noted that the PSDE, the party he recently joined, has the potential to become an alternative force to the current PAS government. He does not rule out the scenario of taking over the leadership of this party and says that the decision will be taken by the members of the party.

"Any party is a living organism. This decision will be taken collectively. Any party has the National Political Bureau, the National Political Council, the Congress of the party. What the broader leadership of the party will decide, that will happen. This party represents a force that must reach Parliament, even if now the general perception is that this party is in a latent state. But there is enormous potential in this party. Following discussions with chairman Ion Sula, I decided to join this party. All the representatives of this party unanimously voted for me as deputy chairman and the members of my team agreed to take this step in order to bring a breath of fresh air to the PSDE," stated Tudor Ulyanovski.

Tudor Ulyanovski ran in the October 20 presidential election as an independent candidate and gained 0.5% of the vote. On November 7, he joined the European Social Democratic Party, led by Ion Sula, becoming deputy chairman of the party.
