Most of the Ukrainians, almost 90 percent, have a good or neutral impression of Moldova, IPN reports, with reference to Ukrainian sources that published the results of a survey conducted by the Democratic Initiatives Foundation together with the sociological service of the Razumkov Center in Kiev. In particular, 49.5% of the respondents have a positive attitude towards Moldova, while 38.3% are neutral. The situation is almost similar in the case of Romania, towards which 46.9% are positive, while are 38.3% neutral.
Sociologists point out that the aggressor country, the Russian Federation, despite its common borders with Ukraine, wasn’t included in the list.
Among neighboring countries, Ukrainians have the best impression of Poland. 66.1% of the respondents expressed a positive attitude towards Poland, while 22% – a neutral attitude. 38.5% of Ukrainians are positive towards Slovakia and the same number are neutral.
Hungary and Belarus are at the other pole of the rankings. Towards Hungary, 45.6% of respondents are negative, 26.7% have a neutral attitude and only 21.1% have a positive attitude. An even worse perception Ukrainians expressed towards Belarus: 78.1% are negative and 12.4% are neutral.
Sociologists note that in addition to errors attributed to studies of this kind, supplementary systematic sampling deviations may be due to the consequences of the Russian aggression, especially the evacuation of citizens from dangerous areas.
