Ukraine is ready to send rescuers to six countries, including Moldova. The announcement was made on Sunday evening by President Volodymyr Zelensky, who instructed Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha to offer the neighboring states assistance in operations carried out in flooded areas following the extreme weather conditions, IPN reports, with reference to European Pravda.

On X social network (Twitter), Minister Sybiha said that, apart from Moldova, assistance was offered to Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. “We express our condolences for the lives lost and the destruction caused by the floods... We wish our neighbors to overcome this natural disaster as soon as possible,” noted the Ukrainian foreign minister.

IPN reported that employees of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations pumped water out of the yards of almost 300 families in localities of Cantemir, Leova, Hîncești, Cimișlia, and Ștefan Vodă districts starting with the morning of September 14.

Work was done to unblock a number of roads, including R-34, R-35 and the national road that passes through Lăpușna to Pervomaiscoe. In Chisinau, the streets were also flooded, and transport moved with great difficulty.

The State Weather Service has warned that rain will yet fall in districts in western and central Moldova, which, after the heavy rain of the last two days, will increase the risk of flooding.
