The refugees from Ukraine will benefit from temporary protection in Moldova also after the lifting of the state of emergency. A draft decision to this effect was approved by the Cabinet on Wednesday, IPN reports.

According to Minister of Internal Affairs Adrian Efros, the move is aimed at ensuring the continuity of the process of managing data about persons who ask for temporary protection.

According to him, if the state of emergency is lifted, these changes will no longer produce legal effects and applicants for temporary protection will face difficulties in obtaining the necessary protection.

Therefore, in order to ensure people’s access to temporary protection and avoid family separation, while ensuring the best interests of the child, the normative documents are supplemented with express provisions regarding the list of persons who are considered family members. The self-declaration on the residence address of the beneficiary of temporary protection will also be introduced.

The applicant for temporary protection is warned about criminal liability for indicating false information in declarations.
