The Ukrainian lawmaker Artyom Dmytruk left Ukraine illegally after being charged with assaulting a law enforcement officer and a soldier.

Sources within the Moldovan Border Police confirmed that Dmytruk entered Moldova on August 24 and left the same day by taking a flight to Rome.

This was also confirmed by law enforcement sources contacted by IPN, who added that the lawmaker could not be detained because the Ukrainian authorities had not issued an international warrant for that.

The Ukrainian Investigation Burau said it started a criminal investigation into the illegal state border crossing by an unnamed lawmaker. An operative taskforce was set up in Odesa to investigate how this was possible and whether anyone facilitated the crime, with a number of civilians and border officers already quizzed, the Ukrainian media reported.
