Movie fans are invited to the Culture Center Odeon in Chisinau to watch 15 film productions screened as part of the Ukrainian Film Days, taking place in Moldova for the first time, Info-Prim Neo reports. Odeon manager Lidia Trioanovschi said Thursday at the opening ceremony that the program of the festival includes four documentary films, three movies for children and a variety of history, drama and comedy films produced over the last eight years. “History films will help the viewers travel in time to those ages and learn about certain events that happened at the crossroads of the XII-XIII centuries”, said Lidia Trioanovschi. A highly recommended film, according to Odeon's manager, is “Vladyka Andrei” – a movie that portrays the life, work and fate of the head of the Ukrainian Eastern Catholic Church Andrei Sheptitski. Another should-not-miss event is the section of four documentaries, among which are “The Picturesque Ukraine” and Roman Shyrman’s “A Dangerously Free Man” about the Ukrainian legendary filmmaker Sergei Paradjianov. Most of the films are screened in the Ukrainian language, with accompanying Russian translation. The festival is organized by the Ukrainian Embassy in Moldova in association with the Cultural Center Odeon.
