Ukraine will suspend the introduction of the new border crossing regime for Moldovan citizens. The PLDM leader Vlad Filat was informed about this by the Ukrainian Ambassador in Chisinau Serghei Pyrozhkov at a meeting on August 21, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the PLDM’s press service. The Ukrainian diplomat said that he transmitted the PLDM leader’s request to institute a moratorium on the decision to introduce a new regime at the Moldovan-Ukrainian border to the Ukrainian authorities. “The Ukrainian authorities expressed their readiness to suspend the given decision. Such a possibility will be discussed with the Moldovan Government,” Pyrozhkov said. Vlad Filat stated that the new government will be making every effort to restore the Moldovan-Ukrainian relations at all the levels. Vlad Filat made the request to suspend the implementation of the decision at a meeting with the Ukrainian Ambassador on August 14. Recently, the Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko told the outgoing President Vladimir Voronin during a phone conversation that Moldova’s inclusion in the list of countries posing migration risks is unjustified and discriminatory. The decision was to come into force on August 25.
