Ukraine has rejected the idea of gas swap shipments to Moldova and Slovakia, Gazprom spokesman Sergei Kupriyanov told journalists in Moscow on Saturday, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting Interfax. "Officially, we haven't got any documents. But unofficially, verbally, they said they won't (ship gas this way)," he said. “They said they can't," Kupriyanov said, when asked about the reasons for the refusal. At the moment, the consultations with the countries participating in the summit had no results, Russia's President Dmitri Medvedev was quoted by RIA Novosti as saying. Russia proposes that a new document should be adopted in order to solve such conflicts in the future. “I can sincerely say that, from my point of view, the energetic charter, if ratified only by a part of the countries, does not offer solutions for this type of conflicts and we should seek for international agreements which would provide solution for this kind of problems”, Medvedev added. Gazprom says it had to cease gas delivery to Europe, through Ukraine, arguing that Ukraine had been siphoning off gas from transit pipes. The Ukrainian Naftogaz said the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine couldn't be resumed for technical reasons and denied any theft. Moldovan PM Zinaida Greceanyi also participates in the summit in Moscow.
