The Republic of Moldova was introduced by Ukraine into the list of states with an increased epidemiological risk. The persons who arrive from a state that is in the red zone and intend to travel to Ukraine must present the negative result of the COVID-19 test (PCR method) at the border crossing point. The test must be done not later than 48 hours before the crossing of the state border and must be in the Russian or English. In the absence of the test, the persons will have to quarantine for a period of 14 days, IPN reports.

Moldova’s Embassy in Ukraine said an alternative to quarantine is self-isolation at home if the person agrees to be included in the Ukrainian Government’s application “Active from Home”.

The foreigners who self-isolate or quarantine in Ukraine can do the COVID-19 test (through PCR method) at Ukrainian medical laboratories within 48 hours of the crossing of the border.

The Moldovans can cross the territory of Ukraine by presenting evidence of the fact that the transit will last for at most 48 hours, like the bus/plane ticket, and the health insurance policy.

If problematic situations appear, the persons can call the Consular Service of Moldova’s Embassy on +380-44-521-22-79 or contact this through the email kiev@mfa.gov.md. In emergencies, one can call the Embassy’s emergency line + 38 068 384 2016 (active 24/7, including WhatsApp and Viber).

Romania updated the list of countries with an increased epidemiological risk. The Republic of Moldova is not on the updated list that takes effect on February 5.
