Ukraine offers scholarships to Ukrainian ethnics from Transnistria

The Transnistrian high school graduates of Ukrainian ethnicity can apply for scholarships to study at a university in Ukraine from April 1, IPN reports.

On its website, the News Agency “Novyi Reghion” says the young people from the Transnistrian region can obtain documents showing that they are of Ukrainian origin from the Ukrainian Embassy in Chisinau. The people living in the Transnistrian region who have Ukrainian nationality cannot apply for scholarships. They can compete for a place at Ukrainian universities under the same conditions as the rest of the applicants.

The applicants for scholarships must submit the copy of the identity card, where there must be indicated the nationality and the place of residence, the application form with photographs, a certificate with the grades for the first half of the academic year, the copy of the certificate showing that the person is of Ukrainian ethnicity, and a certificate showing that the applicant studies at a school in Transnistria.

The applications and all the other documents must be submitted to the education division at the applicant’s place of residence by April 10.
