Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko appointed diplomat Viktor Krizhanovsky be the country’s special representative to the 5+2 Transnistria settlement negotiations, IPN learned from the Ukrainian president’s official website.

Viktor Krizhanovsky occupied this post previously, during 2008-2010. He was then appointed ambassador to Estonia, where he served until June 2017.

In the 5+2 talks, Krizhanovsky will replace Igor Harchenko, who was appointed in April 2014.

The 5+2 negotiations include representatives of the parties, mediators and observers in the Transnistria settlement process, with Moldova, Transnistria, the OSCE, Russia, and Ukraine as the ‘five’; and the United States, and the European Union as the 'plus two’.
