The draw for the group stage of the 2008/09 UEFA Cup took place on Tuesday, October 7 at UEFA Headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The 40 participants were drawn into eight groups of five, with each team playing two home and two away matches. The teams that have Moldovans in their composition, Metalist Harikov (Vitalie Bordian) and Spartak Moscow (Serghei Kovalchuk), will play against Tottenham (England), Udinese (Italy), Hertha (Germany) or Benfica (Portugal).
The first group-stage matches will be played on October 23.
