An under-aged young male and his accomplice, a 19 year old female student from Ungheni, currently studying at ULIM, could face up to 5 years in prison if found guilty of swindling 15 thousand lei. According to the press unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the suspects were caught by police at the moment of receiving the sum from a young female in the capital. The suspect, aged 17 and temporarily an unemployed, was introducing himself as an employee of the Buiucani district Police Department, threatening the victim with a case trial and years in prison. The suspects have broken into the young female’s apartment, took her mobile telephone and identity papers. They also established the place and the date when the money were supposed to be delivered. Criminal proceedings were initiated against the suspects on charges of swindle and blackmail under article 195 of the Penal Code of Moldova.
