Two young men suspected of robbing several women

Two young men, aged 21 and 24, have been arrested as suspects in a series of robberies. According to the General Police Commissariat (GPC), they robbed several women in Buiucani, Rascani and Centru sectors of the capital, Info-Prim Neo reports. The investigation found out that the 24 year old committed at least three robberies in February and caused damages of 5,000 lei. He stole the victims’ cellphones or purses. The stolen goods were then sold at low prices. The second suspect committed at least 4 robberies and caused damages of 4,000 lei. The police don’t rule out that the number of thefts is even higher. The two men are prosecuted for robbery and risk 3 to 6 years in prison with or without a fine between 10,000 and 20,000 lei. According to GPC data, 86 robberies happened in Chisinau this year, which is 6.5% less than last year.
