Two young men managed to steal money from the bank accounts of at least five persons. The offenders published false announcements that they sell expensive cars at low prices. When persons who wanted to buy them appeared, they asked them to provide data about their bank accounts and then withdrew money from them, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Iurie Vasilenko, division head at the Ministry of the Interior, the police were notified by two men from Chisinau municipality, who walked into the trap of the swindlers. The potential buyers were to prove that they have money in the bank, but ultimately remained without it. One was swindled out of €1,000, while the other one of US$1,000. Only the two men complained to the police, but it is presumed that the swindlers withdrew money from the bank accounts of five persons. The conmen are investigated for informational fraud and face four to nine years in prison.
