Two women aged 27 and 32 were sentenced to jail for trafficking a young woman to Turkey, where they forced her to prostitute herself, IPN reports, quoting a communique of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

In March 2011, knowing about the difficult financial situation of the young woman, the culprits promised they will find her a well-paid job in a hotel in Istanbul. They made all the necessary documents for the trip. When on the spot, they deprived the victim of the identification papers by threats and made her provide sexual services for a month. When the young woman managed to return to Moldova, she informed the police about what happened.

Recently, the two women were sentenced to seven years in prison each for trafficking in persons for sexual exploitation. The sentence is not yet definitive.
