The investigators are examining two versions in the case of the death of the Border Police employee, who shot himself mortally in the head from the service gun. Causeni district prosecutor Ion Oboroceanu has told IPN that they are investigating the suicide version and the accidental death version. The results of the medical-legal examination may be ready by the end of this week.
The man who died was 25 and was from Tocuz village of Causeni district. He had worked in the Border Police since 2010. In the evening of August 20, when the incident happened, he was on duty together with a colleague of his, who was 12-15 meters away. His colleague said that the young man didn’t have an inappropriate behavior and didn’t complain that he experienced problems.
Mayor of Tocuz Simion Daranuta has told IPN that the young man was single and lived together with his parents. He assumed overall responsibility for maintaining the family as his two elder brothers are abroad. The mayor does not rule out the possibility that the young man killed himself.
