Two cars on Calea Iesilor St in Chisinau were damaged by a tree that was downed by yesterday’s strong wind.
Contacted by IPN, vice director of the Green Areas Company Galina Leahu said they recorded five cases of downing of trees and large branches. One of the two cars damaged on Calea Iesilor St was destroyed almost fully. There were reported no casualties and other significant damage.
Galina Leahu noted that in many of such cases, when cars are damaged by downed trees, the owners sue the company and seek damages. But nobody can be protected against strong winds and heavy rain and the vehicle owners should take into account the natural phenomena. Statistics for the previous years show that the Green Areas Company lost only 2-3% of the lawsuits filed against it.
According to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, no unordinary cases were reported in the country following the torrential rain and high winds.
