Two teenagers, 16 and 17, are under investigation by the Chisinau police and Prosecutor’s Office, being charged with “torture”, after allegedly assaulting thirteen younger children, ages 11-15 years, in a summer camp in the suburban town of Vadul lui Voda.

The older teens were left in charge in what was later established to be an unlicensed camp and, after reportedly consuming alcohol, they started beating the younger fellow campers.

The police also arrested and started criminal proceedings against the administrator of the camp, which was shut down.

The assaulted children were directed to the Forensic Center for injury assessment.
