Two students eliminated from first Baccalaureate exam

Two students caught cheating in the Baccalaureate exam in the Romanian language and literature for students speaking other languages than Romanian sat on June 3 were eliminated. However, the authorities say the exam took place without major incidents, IPN reports.

Director of the National Agency for Curriculum and Assessment Anatol Topala told a press briefing that the two students tried to copy. These will be able to take the Baccalaureate exams again next year.

The Ministry of Education encourages the students to count exclusively on the own forces, to show integrity and not to compromise their academic future. The parents are recommended to encourage their children to have confidence in their own knowledge.

The Baccalaureate exam in the Romanian language and literature for over 3,000 students speaking other languages than Romanian was held in 64 Baccalaureate centers. The second exam, in the language of study, will be sat on June 7. About 17,000 candidates will take this exam in all the 102 Baccalaureate centers. About 14,000 of the candidates will be tested in the Romanian language and literature, while almost 3,000 – in the Russian language and literature.

Three students were eliminated from the Baccalaureate exam in the Romanian language and literature for students speaking other languages than Romanian last year.
