A man from Morovaya village of Orhei district was rushed to the hospital with burns. His two-story house started to burn and then the flames expanded to a garage. Firefighters struggled to contain the blaze for about five hours, IPN reports.

The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations said the call to the 112 Service was made last night, close to 1am. Two rescue and firefighting teams were on the scene immediately. The house owner tried to extinguish the fire himself, but suffered burns and was taken to the hospital.

The firefighters managed to localize the fire after almost three hours and fully put it out close to 6am. The fire destroyed a part of the roof and property in a room. The fire spread to the garage nearby and fully destroyed a car and partially a tractor that were inside this.

The rescuers managed to prevent an explosion by taking out two gas cylinders from inside the house. The cause and circumstances of the fire are yet to be found out.
