The students of two schools did not go to classes on the first day after the winter vacation as the roads were impassable. Minister of Education Leonid Bujor has told Info-Prim Neo that 86 first-nine graders of the schools in Baurci and Florica villages of Causeni district could not go to school due to the impassable roads. Two kindergartens in Horodiste and Frumoasa villages of Calarasi district did not resume work as there was recorded a large number of cases of A (H1N1) pandemic influenza. The children will stay at home for seven days. Leonid Bujor also said that kindergarten No.2 in Ciobruciu village of Stefan-Voda district and the kindergarten in Musat village of Taraclia district were closed as their roofs collapsed under the weight of the snow. Other damages roofs were repaired during the winter vacation. There are about 3,500 education institutions in Moldova that are administered or coordinated by the Ministry of Education.
