Two prosecutors suspended from posts

The Supreme Council of Prosecutors decided to suspend two prosecutors from posts. One of them worked in Ocnita, while the other one in Floresti. They are accused of acts of corruption. The decision was taken in the first meeting of the Supreme Council of Prosecutors in the new composition, IPN reports.

The two prosecutors were arrested last week within criminal cases started by Prosecutor General Corneliu Gurin. The anticorruption prosecutors charged the two officially. They will be investigated under arrest.

In the meeting, the Supreme Council of Prosecutors named two law professors as new members of the Prosecutors Qualification Board. These are Adriana Esanu, who is a lecturer at the Criminal Law and Criminology Department of the State University of Moldova, and Ion Capatana, a lecturer at the Law Faculty of the same university.
