The administration of the Security and Intelligence Service (SIS) decided to close the portals news-romania24h.xyz and caramida.news.blog for the reason that they disseminate fake news about the COVID-19 pandemic, IPN reports.
In a press release, the SIS said the ordinance to close the two portals was passed on to the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology for implementation.
Earlier, the SIS ordered to close another 52 websites for the duration of the state of emergency for the same reason.
The Commission for Exceptional Situations decided that the providers of electronic communications services accessible to the public, by the decision of the aforementioned Agency, based on the list of sources made public by the Security and Intelligence Service, are obliged to block immediately the online sources that distribute fake news about COVID-19.
