Two police officers were caught red-handed in the evening of December 12. Criminal cases were started against them over acts of corruption, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the Prosecutor General’s Office, a prosecution officer of the Chisinau Police Division was arrested when he was taking €600 from a person for not holding him accountable for causing a road accident.
In the other case, the head of the Public Security Division of a Chisinau police section is suspected of abuse of power. He convinced an inferior of his not to record a case of drug keeping and using that involved his neighbor.
The criminal cases are investigated by the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office. The suspects were placed in the remand unit of the National Anticorruption Center.
