The Prosecutor General's Office will hold an inquiry into the explosion that occurred in the Great National Assembly Square on October 14 in the evening to establish the circumstances and identify the persons to blame. The information was provided at a meeting called by Prime Minister Vlad Filat, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Government's press service. Minister of the Interior Victor Catan said more than 40 persons were injured in the explosion that happened at 22.05. All of those persons are out of danger. Most of them have been discharged from the hospital. The police are conducting investigations. The Security and Information Service mobilized the necessary personnel in order to collect information useful for the inquiry. Vlad Filat said the case should be clarified as soon as possible. He called on the meeting participants to carry our a through analysis of the created situation. He informed that two threatening phone calls were made to the Premier's anteroom during the explosion. The Prime Minister also said that he traveled to the scene this morning and then visited the injured persons at the hospital so see how they felt. The explosion happened 20 meters of the God's Birth Cathedral. Initially, the ambulances transported 31 persons to the hospital. Most of these persons received multiple injuries on the hands and legs. A 20-year-old woman was operated on. Fortunately, there was no casualty. The police say somebody from the crowd threw a RG-42 grenade.
