Two persons killed in road accidents

A car was seriously damaged when it crashed into a tree on the Chisinau-Leuseni road, not far from the border with Romania. The driver lost control of the car at a turn. He escaped, but his passenger – a woman aged 41 – died in the hospital shortly afterward, Info-Prim Neo reports. Traffic Police Division spokeswoman Dana Andronic said that the woman had a broken leg and was taken to the Nisporeni district hospital, where doctors established she also had a broken rib that seriously injured her internal organs. She died as a result of her injuries. A Volkswagen Passat tried to overtake a car on the Pelinia-Balti road and hit laterally a minibus coming from the opposite direction. The 35-year-old driver of the car died on the spot. Two persons were killed and nine injured in nine accidents that happened on the national roads on December 7.
