Two persons were hospitalized on Sunday, March 9, with severe injuries after falling from height. One of them – a 33-year-old-woman – was found in morning at around 8:30 near an apartment building on Maria Dragan Str. Preliminary investigations revealed that the woman jumped from the third floor of the building and remained lying on the ground for about five hours before being discovered. Eufalia Negreata, doctor coordinator at the Chisinau Emergency Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the woman suffered head injuries and fractured one of her femurs and several ribs. The same day, at 13:30, a 37-year-old man fell from the fourth floor of an apartment block on Varzaru Str. while being drunk. It is yet unknown whether the man tried to kill himself or that was a simple accident. With multiple traumas, including head injuries, cerebral contusion, and left shank fractures, the man was admitted to the Emergency Hospital. On March 8, at around 16:45, a male eleventh-grade student of a school located in Chisinau’s Ciocana district committed suicide by jumping from height. The teenager died on the spot. On Sunday, Chisinau’s ambulance crews received 700 emergency calls, responding to 77 cases of trauma, 73 reports of acute viral diseases, 5 brain strokes, 13 childbirths, and 51 cases of mumps. A teenage girl, 19, gave birth in a student dormitory on Sadoveanu Str. During the day, two young men, aged 18 and 25, attempted to commit suicide by cutting their wrists.
