Two women from Fălești district and the municipality of Bălți died at the Bălți Clinical Hospital because of COVID-19, IPN reports, quoting the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection.
The woman from Fălești district was 88 and was admitted to the Bălți Clinical Hospital with bilateral pneumonia and acute renal failure. The second woman, aged 80, suffered from arterial hypertension and cardiorespiratory failure. The death toll now rose to 171.
The Ministry said that 252 persons with COVID-19 are in a serious state at the hospital, 21 of whom were put on a ventilator.
Twenty-two cured persons were discharged from the hospital on May 10. In total, 1,980 persons who contracted the virus recovered.
The number of infections with the novel coronavirus now stands at 4,927, with 1,188 of those infected being healthcare system employees.
