February 22 and 23 were declared mourning days for the victims of the violent clashes in Kiev, IPN reports, quoting the Ukrainian news agency Unian.

The decision was taken by representatives of the protesters. There is no official document in this respect, signed by the presidential administration or the Supreme Rada.

During the two days, there will be held no cultural events and sports competitions, while flags will be flown at half mast.

According to the Ukrainian Health Ministry, 77 persons were killed and 589 were injured in the recent violent protests in the central square of Kiev.
