Shortly after MPs Sergiu Sîrbu and Grigore Repeshchuk announced that they will no longer be part of the parliamentary group Pro Moldova and will sit as unaffiliated MPs, MPs Eleonora Graur and Ruxanda Glavan also announced their intention to withdraw, IPN reports.

“After a fruitful political activity during which I, together with my mates, made continuous efforts to develop a nice project for the country and the people - Pro Moldova – our roads separated. Today I withdraw from the parliamentary group Pro Moldova. I decided that I will further represent the people’s interests but as an independent MP, not affiliated to a political party,” stated Eleonora Graur, noting there are many reasons for such a decision, but she does not think these should be enumerated.

“I also express my regret at the fact that Andrian Candu, who is a talented politician who sincerely wants to build a modern European party, became hostage to this embracing situation, but not everything depends on him.”

Ruxanda Glavan said she decided to withdraw from the party and from the parliamentary group. “To avoid any speculations, interpretations and conspiracy theories, I note that I will not join any party, not even “unofficially”, as some like to say. I will team up with all those who are anti-Dodon! I will continue my activity as an unaffiliated MP, in the opposition, until the snap parliamentary elections that I think should take place next spring,” she wrote.

Shortly afterward, Pro Moldova leader Andrian Candu came with a reaction. “The people are free to come to the team, assume risks and criticism, but are also free to withdraw when they are no longer Pro Moldova. In the process of building the party, we can yet lose mates, but we will attract new friends and members loyal to the ideas we promote. We took note of our mates’ decision and hope they will find their place, as they aimed. Our position remains the same – Dodon must leave,” Candu said in a statement.
