Two more deaths by drowning

A man drowned in Briceni, while another one in Temeleuti village of Calarasi district on July 18, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service. Contacted by the Agency, the mayor of Temeleuti Constantin David said the man aged 55 worked in the fields together with another three villagers. After gathering several carts of hay, the men decided to swim in the pond near the village. One of them was swallowed by waters. He was married and had two children. The same day, a 37-year-old man drowned in a pond near Briceni town. In both of the cases, the bodies were taken out by frogmen. According to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, 68 persons have drowned so far this year. The victims include seven minors.
