MP Marina Tauber of Șor Party and Daria Fyodorova of the Party “Ours” were registered as candidates for the mayoralty of Bălți municipality. Arinei Spătaru, who applied to run as an independent, was rejected. The information was confirmed for IPN by the secretary of the Bălți District Electoral Council, Viorica Cemîrtan.

The secretary noted that Arina Spătaru wasn’t registered because she didn’t meet all the requirements, including the collection of signatures.

On her Facebook page, Arina Spataru wrote that for the new local elections that will be held in Bălți on November 21, the new Central Election Commission came with the undone homework, with an outdated electoral code that is contradictory and discriminatory, while the new mayoral elections in Bălți are aimed at promoting candidates with considerable financial and administrative resources. This is injustice towards her and the 3,600 inhabitants of Bălți who signed in favor of her.

The Bălți District Electoral Council today is to examine the set of documents filed by Vladimir Dachi, of the Political Party “Noi” (“We”).

Ten registered candidates for mayor can start to campaign. These are: Boris Marcoci of the Party of Action and Solidarity; Ion Starciu of the Party “Building Europe at Homer”; Maxim Burduja of the National Unity Party; Alexandr Nesterovschi of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists; independent Nicolai Grigorishin; Ivan Tulburi of the Liberal Party; Nicolae Chirilciuc of Moldova’s Patriots Party; Fiodor Ghelici of the Working People’s Party; Marina Tauber of Șor Party, and Daria Fyodorova of the Party “Ai Noștri” (“Ours”).
