The Balti District Electoral Council registered two more competitors in the November 5 mayoral election in Balti. These are Alexandr Petkov, of the Our Party, and Anastasia Svetlichnyi, of the Alternative and Moldova Salvation Force. The information was confirmed for IPN by the Balti District Electoral Council’s head Svetlana Colesnic.
The Council is still examining the documents presented by Sergiu Popovici, of the Coalition for Unity and Wellbeing, Mark Tkachuk, of the Common Action - Civic Congress Party, and Nicolai Grigorishin, of the Party of Change.
The 12 registered candidates for mayor of Balti municipality are:
1. Sergiu Burlacu, Liberal Democratic Party
2. Vladimir Rusu, Party of Action and Solidarity
3. Alexandru Gustoi, Party of Communists
4. Ion Straciuc, Party “We Build Europe at Home”
5. Maxim Moroșan, Party of Socialists
6. Aureliu Filipp, Party of Development and Consolidation of Moldova.
7. Victoria Șapa, Chance Party
8. Arina Korshikova, independent
9. Marina Kravchenko, independent
10. Alexandr Nesterovschi, Revival Party
11. Alexandr Petkov, Our Party
12. Anastasia Svetlichnyi, Alternative and Moldova Salvation Force.
The voters on November 5 are to elect 898 mayors and 11,058 local councilors. The election campaign started on October 6.
