A child aged two months from Balti municipality was admitted to the hospital as a result of a walk with the baby carriage. When the parent wanted to raise the baby carriage over the curb, the carriage’s basket detached itself and the child fell on the sidewalk with the face down. This suffered multiple injuries and had to be operated to have a wound sutured.

Ala Condrea, head of the Emergency Admissions Division of the Balti Municipal Hospital, has told IPN that the adults’ imprudence often leads to unfavorable consequences for the children’s health.  In another case that happened in Balti, an eight-month-old child was hospitalized after this was dropped during the baptizing ceremony. The baby fell on the terracotta tiles and suffered a brain injury.

According to specialists, the falls, even from small heights, can be very dangerous for children. The parents must realize that a moment of inattention can transform a perfectly healthy child into a child with disabilities.
