The Moldovan tennis players continue to make history at the Futures tournaments in Turkey’s Antalya, where Radu Albot won not less than 10 trophies. Moldova’s second best tennis player Maxim Dubarenko also achieved good results, IPN reports.
In the final, Dubarenko met Moldova’s Andrei Ciumac. The latter suffered an injury in the first set and withdrew from the competition.
Maxim Dubarenko was the best player at this tournament that had a prize fund of US$10,000. Andrei Ciumac won the doubles together with Ukraine’s Artiom Smirnov.
Dubarenko, Ciumac and Albot also play for Moldova’s national team. The next Davis Cup tournament, against Egypt, will take place in Chisinau in February.
