The police identified two minors aged 13 and 16 from Ialoveni who are suspected of stealing US$8,000 from the home of a resident of the town at the end of this March. They found the money in a bag.
After stealing the money, they hid it in the stove of an agricultural factory. A part of the money was burned. The information was confirmed for IPN by Silvia Vetcu, press officer of the General Police Inspectorate.
The minors told the police that they spent a part of the money on food. They hid the rest of the banknotes in the stove, where they burned.
The teens are investigated outside custody for theft. They face a maximum jail term of four years.
